North Texas Commission Names Marcy Sherman Interim President and CEO

The North Texas Commission Board of Directors approved Marcellette (Marcy) Sherman, CAE, CFRE to serve as the Interim President and CEO of the 45-year-old organization. Sherman has been on staff of the regional, non-profit organization for 12 years, serving as the Executive Vice President. She replaces Mabrie Jackson, who will be joining H-E-B/Central Market in early March.
Sherman has more than 20 years of experience in both for-profit and non-profit environments, and has served in several capacities since joining the North Texas Commission including board development, community relations, fundraising, and launching of NTX Magazine. Prior to joining the North Texas Commission, she served as President of Marcoa Publishing, a leading publisher of high-quality publications for business associations and chambers of commerce nationally.
In 2015, Sherman was recognized as one of 25 executives worldwide who have earned the highly coveted non-profit leadership credentials of Certified Association Executive and Certified Fund Raising Executive.
Sherman will serve in this role during the search for a permanent replacement.
