North Texas Commission Appoints New Leadership
February 22, 2023 – Last Thursday, during the North Texas Commission’s Board of Directors meeting, President/CEO Chris Wallace announced the appointment of Patrick Brophey as Chief Operating Officer and Ashley Mergele as Vice President of Communications and Issue-Based Advocacy. The two have become the youngest individuals to hold leadership roles in the organization’s history.
“Both Patrick and Ashley fill important roles in the Commission,” Wallace said. “As we continue to grow our team, their knowledge and understanding of the organization is extremely valuable. The two leaders have shown their commitment to North Texas, and I am looking forward to seeing how much further we can take the organization with their leadership.”
As Chief Operating Officer, Brophey will oversee the day-to-day management of the NTC office and team. He will continue to serve as a leader and registered lobbyist on the Commission’s lobby team and as an NTC board liaison. For the past three and a half years, Brophey has been an integral member of the NTC team, continuing to show his exceptional leadership and management abilities.
As the Vice President of Communications and Issue-Based Advocacy, Ashley Mergele will continue to lead the NTC’s media presence, brand identity, signature events, and our region’s Leadership North Texas program. With nearly four years as an NTC team member, Mergele has become well-equipped with the knowledge and skills to lead the organization’s communications efforts.
