Moving North Texas Forward
At the North Texas Commission, we celebrate the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex as a global leader in innovation and discovery.
With the opening of the new phase of the NTE 35W, which connects downtown Fort Worth and the Alliance Airport, the Metroplex is ready for the next step towards improving our roadways.
That's why the Commission, along with business and community leaders, is calling for needed capacity improvements to the North Tarrant Express Midtown portion of the SH 183 corridor. The segment is a primary artery to the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport,
downtown Fort Worth, and cities across the region, making it a vital connector for commuters, commerce, and cargo.
Currently, this segment of the NTE is considered one of the most congested in the state. The improvements to this segment would address dangerous traffic bottlenecks and related unsafe driving conditions. The cost to improve the segment would be paid by the North Tarrant Express Mobility Partners (NTEMP) as part of its public-private partnership agreement with the state. Most importantly, these improvements would not come at the expense of taxpayers.
NTE 35W
Projects like the NTC contribute significantly to the region's economy- creating billions of dollars in economic impact and putting more than 2,000 regional contracting and vendor firms to work. Improvements to this segment of SH 183 would create hundreds of new local jobs and bring additional investments to the region.
